The Farm

Little Tahall Farm is a 15 acre smallholding situated on the beautiful Machars Peninsula in Dumfries and Galloway.

Originally one of the tenanted farms belonging to the Barnbarroch Estate near Wigtown its beginnings can be traced back to the 1780s . Now a much smaller farm the land is managed for grazing sheep with an emphasis on sustainability and regeneration.

Originally a much larger farm of around 50 acres our ethos focusses on small scale high quality production with a strong environmental approach to everything we do.

Less productive land has been re-purposed with native tree planting and wetland renewal to encourage a diverse wildlife habitat. Where land is used for commercial agriculture we try to reduce environmental impact as much as possible through careful management of the land and livestock.
